The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is Pakistan standardized entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) programs in public and private medical colleges across Pakistan. This comprehensive assessment evaluates candidates knowledge and understanding of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English at the intermediate college level. MCAT is a mandatory requirement for all medical admissions as per the Pakistan Medical Commission regulations, replacing the previous system where individual universities conducted their own entrance tests. The examination ensures standardized evaluation of candidates seeking careers in medicine and healthcare.

What is MCAT and how does it differ from MDCAT?
MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) is the standardized entrance exam used in the United States and Canada for admission to medical schools. Unlike MDCAT (Pakistan's Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test) which is Pakistan-specific, MCAT is accepted by medical schools across North America. The exam covers four sections: Biological and Biochemical Foundations, Chemical and Physical Foundations, Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations, and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. International students (including Pakistanis) planning to study medicine in the USA or Canada must take MCAT and score competitively (510+ for top schools) along with demonstrating research experience and extracurricular involvement.
