What is DU-ADM and how does it work?
DU-ADM (Delhi University Admissions) refers to the separate entrance tests conducted by Delhi University for specific undergraduate programmes that are not covered under CUET. These include Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE), Bachelor of Financial Economics (BFE), Journalism (MJ), and some Honours programmes in specific colleges that conduct their own tests. After CUET became mandatory for most DU programmes in 2022, these remaining courses still use college-level entrance exams. Each college sets its own exam pattern and cutoff. Check the specific college's website for the current year's admission process.
What is the DU-ADM exam pattern for BBE and BFE?
The DU-ADM tests for BBE (Bachelor of Business Economics) and BFE (Bachelor of Financial Economics) typically consist of 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 2 hours. The syllabus covers: Quantitative Aptitude (Class 11-12 Mathematics: Arithmetic, Algebra, Calculus basics), Economics (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics at introductory level), General Awareness and Current Affairs, and English Language and Logical Reasoning. Each correct answer carries 4 marks; 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer in some years. The exam is conducted at designated centres in Delhi.
How do I prepare for DU-ADM entrance tests?
DU-ADM entrance tests are less standardised than CUET — each college has its own pattern and difficulty. For BBE/BFE: focus on Class 11-12 Mathematics (particularly Calculus, Arithmetic, and Algebra), introductory Micro/Macroeconomics, and current affairs. For Journalism (MJ): focus on English language skills, current affairs, and media awareness. Solving previous year question papers (available on college websites or online forums) is the most effective preparation strategy. Since CUET now handles most DU admissions, these entrance tests have smaller candidate pools — a well-prepared candidate has a strong chance.
