Solving Problems Using Venn Diagrams
In a group of 45 students: 28 play football (F), 20 play basketball (B), and 10 play neither. If 8 play both sports, find how many play exactly one sport.

Indexed Sets and Families

Partitions
A partition of a set divides it into non-overlapping subsets that cover the entire set. If A and B are non-empty subsets of S such that A ∩ B = ∅ and A ∪ B = S, then {A, B} is a partition of S.
