Part of the DU Admission (Bangladesh) study roadmap. Gk topic gk-004 of Gk.

Culture, Society, and Politics of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a nation of extraordinary cultural richness, shaped by centuries of syncretic traditions, the trauma of partition and war, and the dynamism of its young, largely Muslim population. Its society blends Hindu and Islamic traditions with indigenous Bengali folk practices, while its politics reflects the tensions between secular nationalism, Islamic identity, and military influence that have characterised the country since independence.
