📋 Exam Pattern
The RO/ARO examination consists of two stages. Preliminary Examination (screening test) is an objective MCQ paper of 300 marks covering General Studies (History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economy, General Science, Environment, Current Affairs), Hindi (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension), and Reasoning/Intelligence. Mains Examination (conventional type) has papers in General Hindi (150 marks), General Studies I (200 marks — History, Geography of India and UP), General Studies II (200 marks — Indian Polity, Governance, International Relations), and an optional subject paper. Both stages are eliminatory. Final selection is based on Mains performance.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian citizens aged between 21-40 years for general category. Educational qualification is a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Proficiency in Hindi (reading and writing) is mandatory. Computer knowledge is essential for the role. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates applies. Candidates must be of good character and sound health. Domicile of Uttar Pradesh is preferred for certain reserved positions.
