What is the eligibility for BITSAT?
Candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), with at least 60% in each subject individually. However, appearing for BITSAT does not require this threshold — only admission does. Students currently appearing in Class 12 are also eligible to appear. There is no age limit for BITSAT.
What is the BITSAT exam pattern?
BITSAT is a computer-based test of 3 hours with 150 multiple-choice questions divided into 4 sections: Physics (40 questions), Chemistry (40 questions), Mathematics (45 questions), and English & Logical Reasoning (25 questions). There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam is conducted in English only. Candidates who score 300 or above out of 450 are considered competitive for BITS Pilani campus admissions.
How does BITSAT counselling work?
BITSAT counselling is conducted through JOSAAC (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) for admission to BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa campuses. After BITSAT results are declared, candidates fill their preferences online. Seat allocation is done in multiple rounds based on rank, preferences, and availability. The BTech programme at BITS offers flexibility to switch branches after the first year based on CGPA.
